In this article, I will walk you through Microsoft’s financial statements from its annual reports that I analyzed. Microsoft generated $89bn of operating cash flow (+16%) and increased payout to investors by 16% to $50.8bn.

Microsoft earned $72.7 billion of net income in 2022 (+19% growth) from revenue of $198 billion (+18%). It also invested in its data center infrastructure, hired a record number of people, and closed the Nuance acquisition. Microsoft’s financial statements show that Microsoft continued to increase its profits and returned a hefty amount of cash to investors.
